When implementing DTF on your garments, it is essential to keep in mind the 3 main pillars of this technique:
Temperature: 160º – 180º
Ironing time: 6s – 10s
Pressure: 5 bars or as high as possible
In addition to setting these specifications on our iron, it is very important to remove the film exactly as shown in the video.
The secret is to remove it without hesitation, right after taking it off the iron, quickly and diagonally. If we peel it off slowly, it is very likely it will not come off properly.
*VERY RECOMMENDED PRACTICE
Once we have done the first ironing and removed the film, the ideal is to give a second ironing so the DTF fully impregnates the fabric. This way we will eliminate the plastic effect and make it blend with the textile.
Pre-ironing steps
As with other techniques, what we do before applying customization will determine whether the result is decent or perfect.
We strongly recommend strictly following the points below.
Check that the garments to be customized have no wrinkles in the area where we will place our DTF.
Try, as much as possible, to ensure that the placement area is completely flat, and is not near pronounced seams or other fabric areas that would prevent the iron’s weight from being distributed evenly across the garment’s surface.
Adjust the iron’s temperature and time (160°-180° // 6-10 seconds) before starting to iron.
Adjust the machine’s pressure before starting. (We recommend using the maximum pressure allowed by the iron for a better finish)
Steps during ironing
When applying our DTF, it is extremely important to follow these steps.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED → After you have given the first ironing and removed the film, it is very advisable to apply a second ironing (with the same temperature and time, or reducing the latter) to fix the DTF to the garment. Also, by doing this, our DTF will look infinitely better with a perfect finish.
Place and stretch the garment well on the iron to avoid wrinkles when ironing.
Check that there is no hair, thread, lint, or any other kind of dirt on the shirt where the DTF will be applied. If you iron over any piece, it will remain under our DTF, which can cause many headaches.
Remove immediately as soon as it comes off our iron and DO NOT wait for it to cool at all.

Steps after ironing
It is highly recommended that the garment(s) to which we have applied the DTF rest wrinkle-free and crease-free, at least until they are completely cool. If, after the 2 ironing steps, the garment is still very hot and we let it cool down completely while wrinkled, some wrinkles may remain until the garment is washed, and (almost) certainly none of your customers want to receive a garment like this.
